East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars couldn’t keep up with Tucker County Varsity Mt Lions and fell 16-1 on Friday at Camp Kidd Park.
East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars opened the scoring in the first after Madison Strosnider drew a walk, scoring one run.
Tucker County Varsity Mt Lions jumped into the lead in the bottom of the first when Bella Loucks singled, scoring two runs, N Nelson singled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.
Tucker County Varsity Mt Lions scored seven runs on seven hits in the bottom of the second inning. Bella Loucks doubled, scoring two runs, Rylee White singled, scoring one run, a dropped third strike scored one run, Kadence Rosier grounded out, scoring one run, Keisha Arnold singled, scoring one run, and Peyton Hicks singled, scoring one run.
Tucker County Varsity Mt Lions extended their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Rylee White, Lillian Collar, Lorelai Wilfong, and Isabel Bennett.
Peyton Hicks earned the win for Tucker County Varsity Mt Lions. The righty gave up zero hits and one run over four innings, striking out eight and walking three. Alexis Baker started in the circle for East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars. The pitcher allowed 17 hits and 15 runs (12 earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking five.
Taylor McReynolds stole two bases.
Tucker County Varsity Mt Lions accumulated 19 hits in the game. Peyton Hicks led Tucker County Varsity Mt Lions with four hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Bella Loucks, Lillian Collar, and N Nelson each drove in two runs for Tucker County Varsity Mt Lions. Rylee White, Isabel Bennett, and Lorelai Wilfong each collected multiple hits for Tucker County Varsity Mt Lions. Bella Loucks and Lorelai Wilfong each stole multiple bases for Tucker County Varsity Mt Lions. Tucker County Varsity Mt Lions worked the count all day, tallying five walks. Tucker County Varsity Mt Lions stole 10 bases in the game. Tucker County Varsity Mt Lions were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Isabel Bennett made the most plays with seven.
