Cougars stifle Tygarts Valley on Sisler’s smoking no-hitter and Hamilton’s flaming bat

Evan Hamilton hit three home runs and drove in five as East Hardy Varsity Cougars defeated Tygarts Valley Bulldogs Varsity 11-0 on Wednesday at 238 Cougar Drive. Evan Hamilton homered in the third, first, and second innings.

East Hardy Varsity Cougars got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Evan Hamilton homered to center field, and Dayton Dove singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Four more East Hardy Varsity Cougars runs crossed the plate in the second inning to extend the lead to 6-0. Evan Hamilton hit a solo home run to right field, Dayton Dove doubled, scoring two runs, and Gage Dove singled, scoring one run.

Evan Hamilton homered to center field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the third for the East Hardy Varsity Cougars.

Shayne Sisler stepped on the mound first for East Hardy Varsity Cougars. The pitcher surrendered zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking none. Jacob Wamsley stepped on the hill first for Tygarts Valley Bulldogs Varsity. The starting pitcher gave up 10 hits and eight runs over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking three.

East Hardy Varsity Cougars accumulated 13 hits in the game. Gage Dove, Dayton Dove, and Mason Hamilton each collected multiple hits for East Hardy Varsity Cougars. Shayne Sisler threw an immaculate inning in the fifth, striking out the side on nine pitches. East Hardy Varsity Cougars turned one double play in the game. East Hardy Varsity Cougars didn’t commit a single error in the field. Dayton Dove had the most chances in the field with seven.

Tygarts Valley Bulldogs Varsity were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. C Markley made the most plays with four.

East Hardy Varsity Cougars will travel to South Harrison Hawks for their next game on Friday.
