Strosnider (Richard Bland College)’s Big Day Propels East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars Past Hampshire Varsity Trojans

Madison Strosnider (Richard Bland College) drove in seven runs on three hits to lead East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars past Hampshire Varsity Trojans 28-13 on Friday at Hampshire High School. Madison Strosnider (Richard Bland College) tripled in the fourth scoring three, tripled in the third scoring two, doubled in the second scoring one, and walked in the fourth scoring one.

Bats blistered as East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars collected 10 hits and Hampshire Varsity Trojans tallied nine in the high-scoring game.

East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars opened the scoring in the first after Jaylynn Combs drew a walk, scoring one run.

Kristen Neff doubled down the left field line, which helped Hampshire Varsity Trojans tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

A double by Madison Strosnider (Richard Bland College) gave East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars the lead, 2-1, in the top of the second.

Hampshire Varsity Trojans flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 6-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Erica Call that drove in two.

East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars scored seven runs on two hits in the top of the third inning. Gracie Heishman singled, scoring two runs, and Madison Strosnider (Richard Bland College) tripled, scoring two runs.

Hampshire Varsity Trojans flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on zero hits to take the lead, 11-9. The biggest blow in the inning was a hit by a pitch that drove in one.

East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring 13 runs on four hits to take the lead, 22-11. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Madison Strosnider (Richard Bland College) that drove in three.

East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars scored five runs on three hits in the top of the fifth inning. Gracie Heishman doubled, scoring three runs, Jaylynn Combs drew a walk, scoring one run, and Paylynn Rexrode drew a walk, scoring one run.

Madison Strosnider (Richard Bland College) earned the win for East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars. The reliever allowed three hits and two runs over two and one-third innings, striking out seven and walking none. Alexis Baker opened the game for East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars. The right-handed pitcher allowed six hits and six runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking four. Kristen Neff opened the game for Hampshire Varsity Trojans. The pitcher allowed three hits and six runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking seven.

East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars amassed 10 hits in the game. East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars’s Alexis Baker, the number seven hitter, led East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars with four hits in six at bats. Gracie Heishman collected two hits for East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars in three at bats. East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 21 walks for the game. Taylor McReynolds and Jaylynn Combs led the team with four walks each. Paylynn Rexrode and Taylor McReynolds each stole multiple bases for East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars. East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars ran wild on the base paths, accumulating eight stolen bases for the game.

Charly Ashton, Erica Call, Kristen Neff, and Lilah Watkins each drove in two runs for Hampshire Varsity Trojans. Kylee Potter went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Hampshire Varsity Trojans in hits. Hampshire Varsity Trojans had a strong eye at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Charly Ashton and Lilah Watkins led the team with two free passes each. Kylee Potter stole two bases. Hampshire Varsity Trojans ran wild on the base paths, piling up six stolen bases for the game.

East Hardy Varsity Lady Cougars welcome Hampshire on Monday for their next game.
