Responding to a recent letter from Mr. Neil Gillies of Baker regarding President Trump’s imposition of tariffs and the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent ruling… you’ve missed the larger point, that Mr. Trump is attempting to rebalance global trade, instill fairness with respect to the U.S., and bring manufacturing back home (something I’d hope you’d support)? Stand by while he finds another way to work through this, likely through action by our lackluster Congress.
And I find the “No Kings” element laced through Mr. Gillies’ letter to be distasteful and inaccurate. For decades we’d said we need a businessman as president. Well, in 2016 we got that, and again in 2024. Watch the success of our economy under President Trump after we successfully end the mullahs’ reign of terror in Iran, something the last 7 presidents failed to address. This is not the action of a “king”, rather someone who possesses common sense and follows through on his promises. I’ll take that any day over any candidate (cackling, lazy Kamala, for instance) the Dems pick to run in 2028, when I expect J.D. Vance to carry on President Trump’s agenda into the 2030s.
