AIR QUALITY PERMIT NOTICE
NOTICE OF APPLICATION
Notice is given that American Woodmark Corporation has applied to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, for a Modification Permit for its South Branch Facility that manufactures and finishes wood doors and frames located on 587 Robert C. Byrd Industrial Park Road, Moorefield in Hardy County, West Virginia. The latitude and longitude coordinates are: 39.075184 degrees latitude and -78.945410 degrees longitude.
The applicant estimates the potential to discharge the following Regulated Air Pollutants will be increased by the following amounts: 5.34 tons per year of nitrogen oxide, 5.76 tons per year of carbon monoxide, no change or increase to the facility-wide emission limit for volatile organic compounds, 0.03 tons per year of sulfur dioxide, 0.09 tons per year of N-Hexane, 0.10 tons per year of hazardous air pollutants, 4.15 tons per year of total particulate matter, 4.15 tons per year of particulate matter 10 microns or less in aerodynamic diameter, and 4.15 tons of particulate matter 2.5 microns or less in aerodynamic diameter.
Startup of operations is planned to begin on or about October 1st, 2026. Written comments will be received by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, 601 57th Street, SE, Charleston, WV 25304, for at least 30 calendar days from the date of publication of this notice. Written comments will also be received via email at DEPAirQualityPermitting@WV.gov.
