East Hardy 89, Harman 25
East Hardy defeated Harman 89-25 in the Class A Region II Tournament semifinals in Baker.
The Cougars will host the Union Tigers tonight for the Class A Region II Tournament Co-Final Championship with the winner advancing to the state tournament.
East Hardy is seeking a fourth consecutive state berth.
The Cougars were led by Evan Hamilton with a game high 25 points including eight perimeter baskets.
Hamilton was recognized for scoring 1,000 career points with a special banner, plus 1,000 m&m’s and 1,000 Goldfish crackers as a reward.
Trevor Roof contributed a dozen points in the East Hardy win.
Grady Shifflett netted a team-best 18 points for the Panthers in their final game in program history as Harman will be closing its doors for consolidation next year.
East Hardy Cheer team led by coach Hershberger raised the most money among all Potomac Valley Conference teams supporting the referees in their Cancer Awareness initiative.
The prize for the Cougars Cheer squad is a pizza party provided by the PVC officials as a special thank you.
The Cougars have one final game in the Baker Den, so come out cheering to support their cause returning to Charleston.
