East Hardy Middle School Wrestling team garnered the runner-up trophy with four individual gold medals along the way at the inaugural Potomac Valley League Wrestling Tournament held at Pendleton County Middle/High School in Franklin on Saturday.
The Keyser Golden Tornado won the PVL team championship.
The Wildcats hosted Petersburg, Frankfort, Warm Springs, Keyser and East Hardy for this first PVL Wrestling Tournament.
East Hardy Middle School Wrestling featured a quartet of PVL division champions lifting the Cougars to the second place team finish: Adonis Toulomelis, Chase Rossman, Bear Poe and Grafton Whitacre.
Poe earned All-PVL honors for the Cougars.
Joining these four champions in obtaining the PVL runner-up trophy were: Eli Vandevander, Dominic Rossman, Zayden Sperling, Clinton Nutter, Daniel Buckley, Aiden Smallwood, Madelyn Heishman, Ethan Gonzalez and Cayce Spaid.
East Hardy Middle School Wrestling coach Justin Whitacre has molded these grapplers into great contenders as the future remains bright in Baker.
