It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Curtis Allen “Mouse” Kesner, Sr., who left us at the age of 83 on February 5, 2026, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born on September 18, 1942, in Dorcas, WV, Mouse was a cherished son of the late Goldie Arbutis Whetzel Kesner and Charlie Crites. He joins his brothers, Delmer, Thurman, Gerald, Lyle “Dick” Richard Kesner and Roger Pancake, along with his great-grandson, Caden Luther Vandevender Kesner, in eternal rest.

Mouse dedicated his life to the construction industry and carpentry, leaving a legacy in them that will not be forgotten. A true family man, he delighted in playing cards, hunting, throwing horseshoes, and enjoying a good wrestling match or an old western on TV.

Surviving is his loving wife of 61 years, Jessie Linda Ratliff Kesner; sons, Curtis Kesner, Jr. & Stephanie of Moorefield, WV, Jesse (Pamela) Kesner of Purgitsville, WV, Chris (Kathy) Kesner of Rig, WV and Andrew (Tracy) Kesner of Old Fields, WV; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Elwood (Faye) Kesner of Rig, WV; a sister, Evelyn Franz of Maysville, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family invites you to join them in celebrating Mouse’s remarkable life at a funeral service being held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, located at 107 Washington Street. Pastors Lynn Rohrbaugh and D.J. Taylor will be leading the ceremonies, ensuring a fitting tribute for a man who brought joy to many. He will be laid to rest in Newhouse Cemetery when weather appropriate.

Friends and family will gather to remember Mouse from 4 – 7 PM on Wednesday, February 11, at the funeral home, where stories and laughter will flow freely in honor of his vibrant spirit. We encourage everyone to come share their memories, celebrate a life well-lived, and pay respects to a man who touched so many hearts.

To offer condolences, share memories, or upload photos in honor of “Mouse’s” extraordinary life, visit his Tribute Wall at www.fraleyfuneralhome.com and celebrate the impact he made on all those around him.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fraley Funeral Home.
