Brian Alan McDonald, age 54, of Moorefield, WV, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. He was born on April 1, 1971 in Petersburg, WV, the son of Forist James “Big Jed” McDonald, Jr. of Moorefield, WV and the late Annabelle Laura (Berg) McDonald.

Mr. McDonald attended Moorefield High School and worked in maintenance for Pilgrim’s Pride in Moorefield, WV. In his spare time, Brian enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. He also loved the company from his loyal companions, his dogs, Max and Sid.

In addition to his Father, Brian is survived by: a brother, Forist “Little Jed” McDonald, III (Judy) of Dorcas, WV; 2 nieces, Emilee McDonald; Shantel McDonald; a nephew, Forist McDonald IV; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ashley Nichole McDonald; his unborn grandson, Rowan Jackson McDonald; and a brother, Jeffery “Todd” McDonald.

Brian’s family will receive friends on Monday, February 2, 2026, 5-7 PM, at Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mark Knight officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family, c/o Basagic Funeral Home, POB 400 Petersburg, WV 26847.
