The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Archery in the Schools program features a trio East Hardy Archery teams which participated in their first competition at the Highland Sports Complex in Triadelphia this past weekend. The Cougars have three different levels of archery teams as the program has expanded tremendously this season led by coach Eric Heflin featuring the archery division trio of East Hardy Elementary School consists of 11 students, East Hardy Middle School showcases 20 students and East Hardy High School comprised of 11 students.
“I am very excited about this season. I am coaching three divisions this year with kids from our elementary school, middle school and high school. I am proud of these students coming out to try something new and hope they have fun. It will be interesting coaching all three groups, but we will all learn as we grow together,” East Hardy Archery coach Eric Heflin commented.
The Cougars Archery teams have been learning all the fundamentals and beginning to see the results launched into the bullseyes from practice to competition.
East Hardy High School Archery team members are: Alex Yeater, Danica Smith, Jaiden Gordon, Samantha Gordon, Wyatt Wilkins, Wayne Wilkins, Clayton Burgess, Adam Brill, Bryer Parker, Cody Trent and Alyssa Hottle.
East Hardy Middle School Archery team members are: Brenden Shipe, Levi Davy, Chloe Head, Alexis Gordon, Bear Poe, Jaylyn Sperling, Zaydyn Sperling, Elijah Maphis, Aspen Maphis, Donovan Smith, Braxton Miller, Brelynn Brown, Tyrell Neff, Skylar Self, Jace Combs, Kolton Byington, Hunter Garrett, Cheyanne Hardbarger, Emma Lantz and Dexter Teets.
East Hardy Elementary School Archery team members are: Eva Wilkins, Sterling Self, Kyndall Gregory, Ariah Garrett, Tameka Neff, Meyer Funkhouser, Jaden Smith, Brantlee Falser, Bayleigh Crites, Kelton Keplinger and Michael Miller.
Coach Heflin has an eager crew of archers ready to fling the arrows and keep building on the strong foundation with faith, focus and determination.
