Johnny Ray Gochenour, 87, of Lost River, WV passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at his residence.
Born on June 1, 1938 in Lost River, WV, he was the son of the late Wilda Gochenour Llewellyn. He was raised by his grandparents, Ben and Ella Gochenour.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Wilson) Gochenour, his daughters, Tracey Ratliff of Moorefield, WV, Marcia Pugh of Candler, NC, his grandchildren, Marissa Ratliff, Hannah Ratliff-Hose (Landyn) of Moorefield, and great-grandchildren, Jesse and Cambrie Hose; his half-sisters, Linda Layman (Jim) of Brandon, Florida and Marsha Rowe (Carl) of Ridgeley, WV.
Johnny had worked as an equipment operator and retired December 1, 2003. He was a member of the I.U.O.E., Local 132 for 50 years.
He was a member of the Lost River United Methodist Church. Johnny enjoyed farming and gardening and loved country music shows. He was a lover of chocolate, known for always having a joke or story to tell, and for giving the best hugs. His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Baker, WV with Pastors Russell and Lucy Webster officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Lost River, WV.
