Charlotte Virginia Davis, 94, of Baker, WV went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA.
Born on August 26, 1931 in Gray, MD, she was the daughter of the late Robert Milburn Brown and Pearl May (Reedy) Brown, one of four girls and three boys. She graduated from Catonsville High School and in 1950 married the love of her life, the late James Morgan Davis, who passed in 2004.
Charlotte had previously worked at Montgomery Ward in Baltimore and John Hopkins Lab in Fulton, MD. In 1964 the family moved to Oxford, PA where she partnered with her husband in mushroom farming for sixteen years before moving to Baker, WV where they became fondly attached to the community and their new WV friends and neighbors who she came to love dearly.
Charlotte was a woman of great faith who loved the Lord and at her passing was the eldest member of the Asbury Methodist Church where her hymn singing voice was a joy to hear. She derived much pleasure from baking her delicious pies and cakes for family and friends and could always be relied upon for her contribution of those to numerous community service events. She always placed the welfare of others before her own.
Charlotte faced her health issues over the past several years with courage and resilience and demonstrated the strength of her character to the very end which serves as an inspiration to all who knew her.
She is survived by a son, James Craig Davis of Baker, WV, and a daughter, Christine (Davis) Gallimore and husband Terry of Kirkwood, PA and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Asbury Methodist Church, 1634 North River Rd, Baker, WV 26801 with Pastors Aaron Himes and Burl Charlton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Tunnels to Towers Foundation or the Wounded Warriors Project.
