Wanda Lee Kuykendall, age 72 of Moorefield, WV, a spirited and vibrant soul, passed away Tuesday morning, November 11, 2025, at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV, following a tragic fire in her home. Born on August 25, 1953, in Harrisonburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late William Allen Kuykendall and Fannie Virginia Wolfe Kuykendall.
A proud graduate of the Moorefield High School Class of 1972, Wanda embraced every opportunity that came her way. Her career journey included roles at Kinney Shoes, Bishoff’s Studios & Camera Center, Hester Industries and Hardy County Schools, but her heart always shone brightest when she was lending a hand at the House of Flowers during the bustling holiday seasons. Whether it was delivering beautiful arrangements or encouraging a friend, Wanda was always the one to step up, showcasing her warm, giving nature.
Wanda loved to embark on adventures, particularly to the beach with her friends. From spontaneous road trips to simple gatherings at home, she was the life of any party, effortlessly bringing everyone together with her laughter and love. Her memory will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Wanda’s family will celebrate her remarkable life with a Graveside Funeral Service on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Olivet Cemetery. Pastor Rick Bergdoll will officiate the service, and all are invited to join in honoring a truly special person. Interment will follow, allowing family and friends a moment to reflect and share stories of the joy she brought into their lives.
