Keyser, W.Va. WVU Potomac State College Head Baseball Coach Doug Little has added another prestigious honor to his storied career, earning induction into the West Virginia Baseball Coaches Association (WVBCA) Hall of Fame Class of 2026. Coach Little is one of three members selected for this year’s class, recognizing his long-standing impact on baseball throughout the Mountain State and beyond.
Now entering his 29th season leading the Catamounts, Coach Little stands as one of the most accomplished coaches in NJCAA baseball. He has guided Potomac State to 14 NJCAA Region XX Championships and four appearances in the NJCAA Division I World Series, while compiling an impressive record that leaves him just eight wins shy of 900 career victories. Throughout his tenure, Coach Little’s teams have consistently ranked among the region’s best, achieving 30 or more wins in 21 of 28 seasons. His coaching excellence has earned him 10 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Regional Coach of the Year honors.
Coach Little’s career is defined not only by championships and accolades, but also by his commitment to developing players and programs. Over the years, he has mentored countless student-athletes who have advanced to four-year universities and seen several of his former players selected in the Major League Baseball Draft. This latest recognition follows Coach Little’s 2025 induction into the Mid-Ohio Valley Sports Hall of Fame and his 2016 enshrinement in the NJCAA Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame, further cementing his legacy as one of the most respected coaches in collegiate baseball.
“Coach Little’s contributions to Potomac State College and to the sport of baseball across West Virginia are extraordinary,” said Director of Athletics Mandi Larkin. “His induction into the WVBCA Hall of Fame is a reflection of decades of leadership, mentorship, and success that have shaped our program and countless lives.”
The WVBCA Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. at the Kanawha Country Club, honoring Coach Little and the other members of this year’s distinguished class.
