Even though Potomac Valley Post 64 collected 10 hits to ALB Berkeley POST 14 Sr.’s nine, they still fell 7-2 on Thursday in the American Legion Area 4 Tournament at Martinsburg.
Oliver Crites (Moorefield) led Potomac Valley Post 64 with three hits.
ALB Berkeley POST 14 Sr. got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Liam Healey doubled down the right field line, Jamere Brown walked, Braeden Oviedo hit a sacrifice fly, Wyatt McClintock singled to right field, Sam Hefner was struck by a pitch, and Trace Hough grounded out, each scoring one run.
Landon Whitacre pitched five and two-thirds innings in relief for Potomac Valley Post 64. The hurler surrendered five hits and one run while, striking out four and walking one. Lucas Williamson began the game for Potomac Valley Post 64. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and six runs over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking three. Andrew Engle started on the mound for ALB Berkeley POST 14 Sr.. The right-handed pitcher surrendered 10 hits and one run over five and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking two.
