Rev. Charles C. Snyder

Rev. Charles C. Snyder, Fisher, WV, passed away on Tuesday May 13, 2025, at his home. He was born in Petersburg, on March 16th, 1939, the son of the late Clyde P. Snyder and Ona D. (Smith) Snyder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Diane E. Ward Snyder in August of 2021, six brothers and 3 sisters.

Survived by one brother Nevin Snyder, sisters-in-law Kathy Snyder and Libby Snyder. Also surviving are his beloved; six sons, Brian K. Snyder Fisher, WV, Troy C. Snyder Fisher, WV, Roy B. Snyder (Cathy) Elkton, VA, Jefferey C. Snyder (Natasha) Fisher, WV, Pastor Steven P. Snyder (Jaennae’) Fisher, WV, and Martin E. Snyder (Hilary) Fredericksburg, VA; two daughters, Allison Snyder Riggleman (Chris) South Fork, WV and Mary Snyder Weir (Lu) Fisher, WV; thirty-three grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr Snyder served in the US Army for 6 years, after his service he worked as a carpenter and eventually took a job at Dulles Airport. He and his family returned to Fisher WV in 1974 where he did construction and worked for Clyde Ours at Valley View farms. In the mid 1980’s he went to work as a USDA inspector at what is now Pilgrim’s Pride. He retired in the early 2000’s and he and his beloved wife enjoyed traveling.

Mr. Snyder was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was pastor of The Calvary Baptist Temple in Rig, WV for 33 years before he retired in 2019. His faith has now become sight.

The family will receive friends on Sunday May 18th at Calvary Baptist Temple, 5487 Rig Road, Moorefield, WV from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM with his son, Pastor Steven P. Snyder, officiant. Interment will follow at Kessel Cemetery for immediate family and their children. Graveside services will be conducted by Moorefield Veterans Honor Guard and the United States Army Honor Guard.
