Patricia Gapp

Patricia Ann Turley Gapp, age 85 of Fisher, WV, passed away Sunday afternoon, October 27, 2024, in Frederick County, VA as a result of an automobile accident along with her daughter, Diana Harman. Born on May 14, 1939, in Luke, MD, she was the daughter of the late Elwood Newton Turley and Rose Anna Bowman Turley. Her husband, Matthew Gipson Gapp preceded her in death in November 2018. A son-in-law, David Allen Mongold also preceded her in death.

Patricia, known affectionately as Patti, was a dedicated educator who graduated from Moorefield High School Class of 1958 and furthered her education at Shepherd University and Frostburg State University. Her career at Hardy County Schools as a secretary and teacher was marked by her unwavering commitment to her students and colleagues.

Patti’s faith was a guiding light in her life, and she found solace in family gatherings with her sisters, daughters, and grandchildren. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, warmth, and wisdom.

Surviving are two daughters, Connie (Mike) Thomas and Melanie Mongold of Moorefield, WV; six grandchildren, Michael R. (Preston) Lane, Kaleah L. Thomas, Trevor D. (Timisa) Harman, Matthew P. Mongold, Trad A. (Amber) Harman and Kennan D. Mongold; a great-granddaughter, Dana; sisters, Irene Alt, Frances Leatherman, Linda Raines and Sue Sager and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Joint Funeral Service for Patricia and her daughter will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Believers Victory Center, 160 Believers Lane, Moorefield, WV with Pastor P J Landis officiant. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Co-46, 114 Kuykendall Lane, Moorefield, WV 26836. In these difficult times, let us come together to honor the remarkable life of Patti and find solace in the memories she leaves behind.
