What happens when innocence of youth and desire for excellence meet?
Come see for yourself on Saturday, April 22, at the Moorefield High School Auditorium, when Center Stage Dance hosts its annual recital.
Center Stage Dance is Hardy County’s very own local dance troupe, comprising of nearly 70 young ladies between the ages of 3 to 15.
[private] Every Tuesday and Wednesday evening, from August to April, you will find these young performers practicing their skills at Hardy County Wellness Center. Center Stage Dance is under the direction of mother-daughter duo, Missy and Shannon Shockey, in conjunction with Community Education at Eastern WV Community and Technical College. Missy Shockey points out the preparation her dancers go through to get ready for the recital.
“These young ladies show an enormous dedication and work ethic that is rivaled by no other athlete,” she said. “As they progress, I challenge them with harder, more intricate dance moves and through sheer determination and lots of practice, they have never let me down. The result of their hard work and the long hours of preparation they put into it deserve to be seen and rewarded. So I hope our community will come out and support them at their recital.”
Showtime is 1 p.m. and the house doors will open at 12:30 p.m., with a runtime of approximately 1 ½ hours. The recital is free to the public with open seating. Please plan to attend and lend your support to the Center Stage Dancers. [/private]
