The Hardy County Tour & Craft Association was thrilled to host the 2nd Annual Heritage Pie Contest as part of the 64th Annual Heritage Weekend. The contest was hosted on Saturday at Moorefield High School. Participants dropped off their best pie and recipe to be judged by a panel of “pie experts”
3rd Place- Kirsten Barr with an Apple Crumb Pie
2nd Place- Ashley Evans with a Raspberry Apple Brie Pie
1st Place- Crystal Miller with a Chocolate Cream Pie
All winners received gift baskets with Pioneer Woman pottery pieces curtsey of the HCT&CA. The 1st place winner was also entered into the drawing for the Gatlinberg TN trip, donated by WELD.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the pie contest and the HCT&CA encourages everyone to work on their best pie for next years contest!
The Hardy County Tour and Craft Association hosted the 2nd Annual Largest Pumpkin Contest as part of the 64th Annual Heritage Weekend.
3rd Place with a 68 pound pumpkin was Marcus Cremann (not pictured) of Moorefield.
2nd Place with a 74 pound pumpkin was Brantley and Tatum Crites of Rio.
1st Place with a 89 pound pumpkin was Ronald Hess of Mathias, pictured with his helpers Raelee and Landon Hess.
All winners received a cash prize and the 1st place winner was entered into a drawing to win a Gatlinberg Tenn. trip, donated by WELD.
