Elda Rinard Hahn, 90, of Wardensville, W.Va., departed this earthly life escorted by God and her Savior Jesus Christ on January 4, 2016 to dwell eternally in the glory of heaven with her family and loved ones.
On August 10, 1925, she became part of the lives of Ivan L. and Hazel Wilson Rinard joining with two brothers, Walter and George Rinard, who preceded her in death. Elda graduated from Wardensville High School Class of 1944. She was a member of Capon Farm Womens Club and an active member of Wardensville Presbyterian Church most of her adult life.
She became the wife of John W. Hahn in 1945 and later was the wonderful mother to Karen Findley (Richard); Larry Hahn (Kathy); Ivan Michael “Mickey”; three grandchildren, Sherri Heishman (Ferrell), Amanda Simmons (Adam) and Kimberly Rudolph (Jeremy); and two great-grandchildren, Marcus and Natalie Heishman. She is also survived by her “Special” daughter Bonnie Kohne.
Her care of her parents and children was her calling and she did so with unequaled love. Sunday dinners almost always included people who were alone or elderly treated in a royal manner. Courageously, she has been a strong fighter in her last year of life and has leaned on her great faith. God has returned blessings to a special lady in abundance by the love of family friends and our community.
A funeral service was held at the Loy-Giffin Funeral Home in Wardensville, W.Va. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 with her precious friend and Pastor Benny Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Promise Foundation, 100 Hospital Drive, Petersburg, WV 26847.
