I voted for Donald Trump for President of the United States of America. Given the same choice I had in November, 2016, Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, knowing about them what I know now, I’d vote the same way again. It would take no longer than a single heartbeat for me to hit the Trump button in that rematch.
Hilary Clinton was a sleazy, slimy, lying, bureaucratic pond dweller then and I’ve heard nothing to change my opinion since. She, in her superior attitude toward common people, called me a “Deplorable” . In my book that epithet alone draws the description of her character I apply here.
I voted for Trump, because he had no experience working in the bureaucratic swamp America’s government had become. Instead , he promised to drain that stagnant pond and restore flow of clear water to folks downstream. Hillary apparently favored continuance of Barack Obama’s large scale scum growing operation.
I don’t like Donald Trump either. He is a brash, boorish, loudmouthed back slapper and I’ve never liked dealing with such men. I’d like him much better if he stuffed Twitter where the sun doesn’t shine and simply got on with the hard work of scum removal.
Trump made one super major mistake during his campaign and since he’s been elected. He’s blasted the news media and belittled them with Tweets. He’s accused professional journalists of promulgating fake news.
[private] In the terrible rush to be first in print or first on television news to report a big story there is a tendency to report conjecture about what may happen instead of a simple report about what actually happened. Thus we get splashy provocative headlines over thin justification and call it news rather than opinion.
Remember the miles of headlines about the fiasco Trump’s meeting with Russia’s Vladimir Putin in Paris was going to be? Remember how little was reported following the meeting that took place? Today, if it has already happened, it’s derided as “old news”. If it hasn’t happened yet, then it’s “fake news”. Thus, much written about President Trump is fake because it is guesses about how he’s going to screw up.
I think all the crap about Trump and Russia has been a Democratic smoke screen. Dems want to slow Trump’s draining down to preserve as much pond scum as possible. Of course there is possibility that crooked Hillary did attempt to collude with Putin and accusations against Trump were meant to distract from the truth.
I don’t think loudmouthed Trump, the man, can get reelected in 2020. If conventional Democrats and Republicans are awake and watching they’ll find candidates with same thoughts about role of government in lives of common people. Perhaps next election will compare programs offered rather than personalities on display.
I think Senator John McCain’s “no” vote on passage of the “skinny repeal” of Obama’s Affordable Care Act may be the cancer stricken Senator’s greatest gift to his country. That vote may force Democrats and Republicans to work together to provide America with workable health care financing.
Practical thinkers in both parties acknowledge health care needs fixed. Only way I see to save Obamacare as it is would be to dump America’s coffers into insurance companies bank accounts as subsidies. All that simply to insure that every American has access to same level of care.
Forget ships for the Navy, construction of roads and airports, law enforcement needs, and parks and recreation. All that money gathered in taxes would go to guarantee folks on bottom of the economic pile same level of health care as those on the peak.
There has to be a solution to health care financing and it obviously will take joint action to find it.
