Charles T. Ludwig, Sr., 80, of Moorefield, W.Va., died on Monday, November 3, 2014 at his home.
Charlie was born on September 28, 1934 in Rio, W.Va. and was a son of the late Hunter Alonso and Essie Funkhouser Ludwig.
He worked for Shockey Brothers in Winchester, Va. He was a member of the Sperrys Run United Methodist Church near Rio, W.Va. and attended the Bible Baptist Church in Moorefield, W.Va.
He was married to Evelyn Wyatt of Moorefield, W.Va.
Surviving are four children, Louise Henson of Clear Spring, Md., Anna Wrartchford, Charles Ludwig, Jr. and Charlene Thompson, all of Moorefield, W.Va.; two brothers, Virgil Ludwig of Wardensville, W.Va. and Alfred Ludwig of Strasburg, Va.; eight grand-children; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Charlie’s caregivers.
He is preceded in death by a child, Lynn Ludwig; a sister, Rosie Lupton; and four brothers, Harold, Duke, Jack and John Ludwig.
A funeral service was held at the Loy-Giffin Funeral Home in Wardensville, W.Va. on Thursday, November 6, 2014, with Pastor Matt Lyon officiating. Interment was in the Sperry’s Run Cemetery near Rio, W.Va.
